Prior to joining BCG, I worked in business process advisory for a Big 4. Although my area of focus was quite different from what we do at BCG, many skills I gained would be directly transferable.

On my first BCG project, I was staffed on a case where my experience was valued but I would get the opportunity to develop in the areas that were new to me.
My Project Leader found the perfect mix of offering close support to help me get into my new role while at the same time leaving me a high degree of freedom and leveraging my skills for the benefit of the case.

Since that first case, it's been a great experience. Every day I get to work on a new challenge making me develop at a pace that I couldn't have imagined.

My choice to study commercial engineering was based on my interest in both sciences and economics. During my studies I had the opportunity to do an internship at BCG, where I experienced first-hand that I could continue deepening my knowledge in both directions without the need to make a trade-off.

Since starting at BCG, I worked on several projects on a variety of sectors (healthcare, industrial goods, financial services, etc) where both my scientific and economic backgrounds are of great use. The wide variety of projects implies that I am confronted each time with new challenges pushing my curiosity and broadening my knowledge.
What I especially like is that the Project Leaders continuously teach me their strategic insight, push me to take ownership, and coach me to develop faster than I would ever have imagined.

After spending a total of 12 years in the high tech industry where I enjoyed a broad variety of roles and responsibilities, I had come to a point where I felt I needed new challenges to keep developing.
This was my first reason to join BCG: take a step in my personal development by joining the best management and strategy practice you could think of. Since I joined, I feel I am developing quicker than ever, learning from impactful projects conducted with inspiring colleagues, but also thanks to dedicated training program.

Another great aspect of BCG is the opportunity it offers to work for a broad variety of businesses and industries. This variety spices up my professional life, with the constantly renewed excitement of discovering new horizons.

Olivier holds a master's degree in electrical and mechanical engineering from Université Catholique de Louvain, an executive master in Management from Solvay, and a PhD in electrical engineering from KUL.

Before joining BCG, he worked in the electronics industry for six years where he held several positions ranging from principal researcher, to startup CTO and business development manager.

After three years of professional experience in technology consulting, I chose to grow further to management consulting. I wanted to join a truly global firm where I could work on strategic assignments and gain international exposure. BCG has been a great development platform on multiple accounts and has provided me with ample opportunity to work and live abroad. On top of that, I had the chance to spend one year in France and Singapore to obtain an MBA from INSEAD.

The nature of my work at BCG is highly different from one case to another. Not only do the client and the topic change, but also the BCG team, and often the country with its unique culture.
Each time, I am faced with new challenges and need to adapt swiftly to a new situation. This diversity of work, people, and contexts is what makes me really impassioned.
