Challenge Your Mind

How to Apply

BCG’s continued growth demands that we attract exceptional people. Applicants from different backgrounds are welcome.

Recruiting Process

After receiving your curriculum vitae (see below "Tips for Writing Your CV"), we will contact you to update you on our timelines and what to expect moving forward. If successful at the screening stage, you will be invited to attend interview rounds.

The recruiting process is a two-way dialogue designed so that we can get to know you and you can get to know BCG. The process usually consists of six interviews spread over three rounds. Depending on your profile, you can expect three types of interviews:

  • a live case study

  • a written case study

  • an on-line analytical test

Our interviews are based on real projects that your interviewer has worked on. Through these examples, you will gain a unique insight into what strategy consulting at BCG is like; and they will allow us to focus on how you would approach solving practical business problems.

The interview also gives us the opportunity to learn about your personal drive and motivation, while giving you a chance to get to know our people and our culture. The best way to prepare is to practice using our interactive online cases. On the day of the interview, relax and be yourself.

When to Apply

You may apply at any time throughout the year.

Tips for Writing Your CV

Whatever way you choose to apply, please include a cover letter and a resume, including your academic results (preferably by year).

  • Focus on the important points: your education, work experience, outside interests, and special achievements. If you are a recent university graduate, your education is probably your greatest strength and should come first on your resume. If you have extensive work experience in industry or other professional environments, you should start with that.

  • Make sure the layout of your resume is clear. Try to confine your resume to one to two pages, and use a reasonable font size.

  • Be as specific as possible. Make sure you spell out all your strengths, skills, and interests in your resume. Don’t undersell yourself. All that we know about you at the screening stage is whatever is on your resume. Be sure to give us enough information.

  • We would like to hear about all the job experience you have acquired, even if you do not consider it high-powered work. If you’ve taken on responsibilities or made a contribution beyond the job description, then that’s even better. Just make sure you tell us about the value and learning you gained from each job.

  • Describe in detail your achievements and situations in which you consider you have performed outstandingly in a certain field. These might be club or organization leadership, strong academic performance, publications, or winning a sports tournament.

Other Tips
  • Include dates, and account for gaps in time

  • Be honest about your achievements

  • Explain why you think you are suited for BCG

We hope to hear from you soon. Good luck, and do not hesitate to call for more information.
